Damien's First year

On Wednesday, December 27th, 2007 at 2:50am, Damien James was born weighing 7lbs 13oz and 20 1/2in long and just as handsome as can be!

Following closely in his sisters footsteps, Damien's biliruben levels were high at 3 days old so we are still in the hospital this time and he has been put under the lite therapy for a little while. His levels weren't quite as high as Alana's got so hopefully we will get his under control before his get as bad as hers were. As of this morning 12-30-07 his level was 15.4, and for now he is under the lights and will be tested again this afternoon, and probably sent home with a light for a few days. Going Home!!

Well his level was down on Monday when they checked it and they took him off the lights, saying they would retest when they do his circumcision on Wednesday to make sure he was regulating on his own...well they checked it today at his appointment and it is back up, so he is back under the lights for a couple of days just to help him get regulated again. He is set to be checked again on Friday afternoon at 2pm and Ill update again then, when I get the results. Hopefully he will be lower and we will be done with this...Keep him in your prayers!

His levels were back down well within the safe limits for his age on Friday. So he is off the lights and able to regulate on his own! Finally he is a free baby! At his 2 week appointment on January 9th, he was 7lbs 11oz, almost back to his birth weight! Which is great since he got all the way down to 7lbs 1oz when he left the hospital! Aside from the cold and cough he picked up from his sister, he is doing well! Eating great and actually sleeping for 6 hour stretches at night!! Woo hoo for me! Lets hope he keeps that up!
